Rolex is arguably the most famous brand in the world when it comes to luxury timepieces. Their brand equity is through the roof, and you'd be hard pressed to find another luxury watchmaker who can make watch geeks and non-geeks alike incredibly stoked. Their quality is second to none, and it makes sense that until this day, when someone thinks about James Bond, Magnum P. Or Glengarry Glen Ross, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman they think of Rolex. This Rolex has it all.A technically certified chronometer movement, a steel case, and a beautiful Roman numerals Buckley dial. It also happens to be one of the rarest versions of this reference, as evidenced by the Buckley dial. The word "perpetual" here does not refer to a calendar, but to the abilities of the Rolex-made caliber 1570 automatic movement (which is also found in the Holy grails such as GMT Masters and Submariners from the mid 1960's through to the 1970's).
Incredibly, this watch does not show its age. The case appears bright and sharp and remains in a great condition. The dial itself exhibits a beautiful clear white shade, and displays all of the signs of a special version Oyster Perpetual, from the T Swiss T markings to the Superlative Chronometer certification. In excellent working order keeping good time, ready to enjoy!Original Dial: Buckley dial which is in beautiful condition signed Rolex Oyster Perpetual Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified. However, it's with a higher frequency of 19,800 bph, or 2.75Hz. The 1570 became one of the most popular and highly regarded movements Rolex had so far produced. Used in the continuing series of Oyster Perpetuals, it was still powering the 5512 Submariner in 1978 and even the Explorer ref. 1016 until the end of its run in the late eighties.
